Join us for a memorable night under the stars at Hilton Field! Experience the past come to life with a true Colonial-era campout. This open camp invites you and your family to explore, participate in period activities, and even camp overnight.
 

Stroll through the camp at your leisure, immerse yourself in reenactments, and don't miss out on our communal fire gathering—a perfect place to share stories and warmth. Wrap up your adventure with a delightful pancake breakfast on Sunday morning ($10/pp & $25/family - proceeds go to the Newfields Library).
 

Please bring your camping essentials—tent, sleeping bags, and your favorite snacks.

Note: personal fires are not permitted, but we'll have a communal fire that will light up the evening for everyone. Come make history with us!

TOURS

Led by knowledgeable guides dressed in period attire, these tours provide historical context, and insights into the daily lives of soliders at Colonial camps. Ask questions, and engage directly with the historical environment!

Saturday 5-11 PM

LIFESTYLE DEMONSTRATIONS

Watch reenactors showcase daily activities and skills typical of the period, such as cooking over open fires, crafting with period tools, and wearing authentic colonial attire. Get up and close, participate, and observe!

Saturday 5-11 PM

CANNON DRILL TRAINING

Experience a glimpse into the artillery practices fo the day. Watch reenactors perform precise and coordinated procedures required to operate artillery pieces from the period. Watch demonstratons of loading, aiming, and firing cannons! 

Saturday 5-11 PM

JR MILITIA TRAINING

Young attendees will have the chance to learn about and participate in basic military drills and practices of the time. Under the guidance of experts in period attire, children can engage in marching, basic drill exercises, and receive hands-on experience with safely replicated period weapons. 

Saturday 9 PM & 10 PM

CANDELIGHT TOUR

Just like the day time tours but led by candelight under the stars.

DRILL TRAINING

Get a firsthand look at the military aspects of Colonial life. Reeanactors will perform military exercises that were common during the period, such as marching in formation, handling muskets, and executing battlefield maneuvers. Be a part of the action!

Saturday 5-11 PM

"SHOW & TELL" OF BRIGADE ARTICLES

Experts will display and explain various items that military units would have used during the period. This includes weapons, uniforms, personal gear, and documents, each with a story that illustrates use and significance. Get the chance to get up and close with these items and ask questions!

Sunday 8-10 AM

PANCAKE BREAKFAST

Price $10 a person or $25 a familyAll Proceeds go to the Library

After a fun night of camping and historical adventures, all are welcomed to a pancake breakfast Sunday morning. It'll be the perfect start to the day and a chance for evreryone to gather and share their experiences from the night before! This event is open to all public, not just campers.
